The FrAY STEM Ecosystem is a partnership of schools, businesses, higher education, libraries and parks as well as community organizations across three counties along the South Central Pennsylvania border: Franklin, Adams and York Counties. This FrAY Ecosystem focuses on supporting economic growth to match the primary industries in the area of Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, Agriculture Technology and Robotics. With cities of York and Chambersburg, along with interstate 81 and interstate 83 bracketing the area, the economic alliances from each county combine to support the mission and vision of the ecosystem. The Lincoln Intermediate Unit, an educational service agency, serves as the lead organization providing professional development and convening different components in the ecosystem to create effective partnerships. The basis of professional learning for the Ecosystem are the 4 strands of STEM that have been identified: Code, Build, Design, Create. Our mission is to ensure equitable access to STEM education for all and allow each person to discover their passion.
